Our Process

The EPL Process

Those of you who have seen the documentary, The Need To Grow, and are interested in building an Earth Power Lodge ( EPL ) to produce organic soil amendments and to generate power should understand that agreeing to become an EPL Owner / Operator is a commitment.

The Earth Power Lodge is more than a building, it is best described as an intelligent device that emulates the behavior of an ecosystem. In order build a system that is sustainable it is important to understand the environment in which it will be deployed. The environment determines many of the factors that go into the design of the EPL as the most important objective is to do no harm or as little harm as possible. The second most important objective is to use the outputs to improve the local or regional soil conditions in addition to providing an income to the Owner / Operator or the local community. Creating a regenerative system is the ultimate goal but the first step is to achieve environmental and economic sustainability as both are required for the EPL to be viable.

Each EPL is designed to be part of a network of EPLs. A properly deployed stand-alone EPL may be effective in accomplishing the goals but the efficacy is amplified when supported by the collaborative Network. In some cases the Owner / Operator's only objective is to generate off-grid power but in order to achieve economic viability it may be important to collaborate with others in the network for the sale and distribution of the soil amendments. Technical support by others in the Network is another important factor. In some cases one EPL site or campus can function as a training center for the development of others.

EPL — A Closed-Loop System for Carbon Utilization

Earth Power Lodge represents a new approach to regenerative agriculture—one that transforms waste carbon into biologically active inputs through an integrated thermochemical and biological system. By combining carbon capture, biochar-enabled biomass processing, and controlled microbial conversion, it is designed to produce high-value plant biostimulants while operating as a closed-loop, resource-efficient platform.

The accompanying white paper provides a detailed look at the science, system architecture, and process design behind this approach.

Operating Within Planetary Boundaries

REGENiTECH’s Earth Power Lodge (EPL) is designed not just as an energy system, but as a biological engine that restores soil’s capacity to capture and store solar energy. By integrating thermochemical conversion with soil regeneration and photosynthetic systems, the EPL operates within key planetary boundaries while enhancing them.

Rather than treating carbon as waste, the system cycles it through living processes—improving soil biology, increasing photosynthetic efficiency, and strengthening ecosystem resilience.
